Retraction and Correction
Journal of Global Learning and Teaching (JGLT) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. In order to correct errors and address cases of misconduct, JGLT has established a clear policy for retractions and corrections.
1. Retraction Policy
- Grounds for Retraction:
Articles may be retracted if there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable due to misconduct (e.g., data fabrication or falsification), plagiarism, unethical research practices, or honest error (e.g., miscalculation or experimental error). - Retraction Process:
Retraction requests can be initiated by the authors, editors, or external parties. The editorial board will conduct a thorough investigation following the guidelines provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). If retraction is warranted, a retraction notice will be published, clearly identifying the article in question and explaining the reason for retraction. - Effect of Retraction:
The retracted article will remain in the journal’s online system with a watermark indicating that the article has been retracted. The retraction notice will be linked to the original article to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the academic record.
2. Correction Policy
- Types of Corrections:
Corrections may be issued for errors that do not invalidate the findings of the article but need to be addressed to ensure clarity and accuracy. These may include errors in data presentation, author details, or other significant information. - Correction Process:
Authors or readers who identify errors in a published article should contact the editorial office with a detailed description of the error. The editorial team will review the request and, if necessary, publish a correction notice. The correction will be made available in the same issue or a subsequent issue of the journal. - Correction Notice:
A correction notice will clearly indicate the original article it refers to and will describe the nature of the correction. The corrected article will also be updated online, with a link to the correction notice provided.
3. Addendum and Clarifications
- Addendum:
An addendum may be published if additional information or data that were not available at the time of publication become available and are important for the understanding of the original article. The addendum will be linked to the original article. - Clarifications:
Clarifications may be issued if the article’s content requires further explanation to ensure accurate interpretation by the readers. This can be initiated by the authors or the editorial team.
By implementing this retraction and correction policy, the Journal of Global Learning and Teaching ensures that the academic record is accurate, transparent, and trustworthy, thereby upholding the highest standards of scholarly publishing.
